President William Ruto has ordered Kenyan employers to immediately implement the at least 6% raise on the minimum wage agreed upon on May 1, 2024.
Speaking during the 60th Labour Day celebration at Uhuru Gardens, President Ruto regretted that some employers were yet to implement the directive a year later.
He termed the move as unacceptable and directed the Ministry of Labour to work with the Head of Public Service to make sure employers implement the 6% salary raise.
"Some of the employers have not implemented the 6% salary raise we agreed on last year. It is not right, it is unacceptable and I am directing the Ministry of Labour to work with the Head of Public Service to ensure that every employer implements the 6% salary increase," said Ruto.
