President William Ruto has nominated Amani Komora to be the chairperson of the National Police Service Commission (NPSC).

His nomination, as announced by the Executive Office of the President, follows the recommendation of the Selection Panel appointed to recruit qualified candidates for the role.

His name has been forwarded to the National Assembly for vetting and possible approval.

Also nominated to the commission is Peris Kimani as a member. If approved, the two will join other members: Edwin Cheluget, Benjamin Juma, Collete Suda and Angeline Siparo.

Komora previously served as vice-chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) and the General Manager of Human Resource and Administration at Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).

He also held key roles at the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and served as a member of the National General Wages Council.

The nominated chair holds a PhD in Human Resource Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
