President William Ruto has joined other world leaders in congratulating Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu following her re-election in the general election held on October 29, 2025.

In the polls that were marred by violence, Suluhu garnered 31.9 million votes, which is 97.66% of the total votes cast, to be declared the winner.

In his congratulatory message, President Ruto urged Tanzanians to uphold peace and the rule of law, while encouraging all political players to engage in dialogue.

"I call upon the patriotic people of Tanzania to uphold peace and the rule of law, and I encourage all political actors and stakeholders to embrace dialogue and tolerance as they seek to resolve any issues at hand to safeguard democracy and stability," said President Ruto.

He noted that Kenya and Tanzania share deep historical ties and common aspirations for the prosperity and stability of their citizens.

As such, he said Kenya stands ready to continue engaging constructively in the pursuit of the countries’ shared vision for a peaceful, prosperous, and integrated East Africa.
