Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) CEO Dr. F. M. Siyoi has praised pharmacists for their leadership in advancing local pharmaceutical manufacturing, strengthening Kenya’s health systems, and driving medicine security.

Speaking at the University of Nairobi School of Pharmacy’s 50th anniversary symposium, Dr. Siyoi said pharmacists have been instrumental in developing GMP-compliant facilities and positioning Kenya as a regional manufacturing hub.

He highlighted the University’s vital role in training pharmacy leaders, many of whom serve in key regulatory and public health roles. Dr. Siyoi also unveiled the Integrated Regulatory Management System (IRMS), a digital platform streamlining licensing and regulatory processes.

Calling for more investment in skills and innovation, he reaffirmed PPB’s commitment to partnerships that support Kenya’s health and development goals.
