Police in Kayole, Nairobi County, have arrested a man and a woman suspected of drug trafficking, following a major raid that resulted in the recovery of 130 kilograms of bhang.

John Owuoth, Njiru Sub, County Police Commander, said the law enforcement agents received information from the public and obtained the drugs and a car carrying fake number plates. The suspects will be presented
in court once the probe is over.

The recent operation highlights the intensified measures by the security staff to stop the flow of illegal drugs in the city.

On the other hand, in Ilbisil town, Kajiado County, the locals have renewed their anti, drug abuse fight with a street, by, street campaign to identify and get rid of suspected bhang traffickers.

During the last two days, the residents have been carrying out unannounced raids in the places where drug dealers are thought to congregate.

The police, community partnership see the recovery of several dozen bhang rolls and the arrest of a male suspect who was later handed over to the Ilbisil Police Station authorities.
