Police in Ruiru have dismissed claims of an alleged raid by goons who were reported to have terrorized residents and broken into business premises in Ruiru town, Kiambu County, on Tuesday.
Ruiru Sub-County Police Commander Charles Kibathi termed the reports as baseless, misleading, and propaganda-driven.
He assured the public that no such incident occurred and that security officers were on active patrol throughout the period in question.
The police have vowed to enhance a 24-hour surveillance within the area to restore normalcy following the recent violent Sabasaba demonstrations, which saw several businesses looted and property vandalized.
The sub county police boss at the same time assured residents and business community in Ruiru of round-the-clock surveillance in response to heightened fears stemming from recent violent sabasaba protests which left a trail of destruction in the area.
Meanwhile a spot check in Ruiru town revealed normalcy had resumed with business activities running smoothly after the chaotic Monday’s protests.
This even as the locals called on the police to step up efforts to safeguard lives and property, decrying the massive losses witnessed during the June 25th Gen-Zs demonstrations and the subsequent Saba Saba protest.
