Kenyan MP Peter Salasya has once again lit up social media with his humorous and candid approach to trending topics. Following comedian Mulamwah’s public announcement that he had ended his relationship with Ruth K, Salasya cheekily expressed his interest in the newly single Ruth — and netizens can’t get enough of it.
In a playful message written in a mix of Kiswahili and Luhya dialect, Salasya wondered aloud why Mulamwah had let go of such a “beautiful” woman. Referring to Luhya cultural practices, he joked that “inheritance” — known as okhukalusia — is acceptable, and that if Mulamwah had given him the green light, he wouldn’t hesitate to step in.
“Hii kitu safi mbona ndugu yangu aliachilia. In Luhya culture, inheritance yani okhukalusia iko allowed. Ungesema ndugu Salasya wewe ni ndugu yangu na bado uko soko nimekuachia, she is so beautiful,” Salasya wrote.
The MP didn’t stop there. He went on to humorously suggest that if Mulamwah was not willing to reconcile with Ruth K, he (Salasya) would gladly take over, adding, “Mulamwa turudishe huyu mulamwa ama unipe, sitakataa. Ni kitu shemeji ni mboga.”
His comment quickly went viral, sparking laughter and lighthearted reactions across social media. Many praised Salasya for his ability to find humour even in trending relationship dramas, while others joked that Ruth K might soon have another suitor knocking at her door.
