Kenyan comedian and media personality Oga Obinna has caused controversy online after posting a humorous yet endearing post warning men about accepting gifts from women.

On social media, Obinna made a joke that if a woman attempts to purchase a man something like shoes, you should turn them down. “Dem akiwehi kukufanyia kitu bro, eti let me just buy you shoes Kevo, sema sitaki,” he said, and that such favors always come with a price tag.

As Obinna shares, once a woman has spent money on a guy, she can start reminding him of everything she has done by telling him things like, “I made you, nimekuwa nikikulinda all along, after all I have done for you.”

The comedian closed his tip in a lighter note by saying men should stick to small, harmless gifts: “Endelea tu kuchukua socks na boxers.”

Fans flooded the comment section with laughter, saying Obinna had “spoken facts.” Others shared personal experiences, saying that expensive gifts can often be a source of emotional drama.
