Makadara MP George Aladwa has exuded confidence that the ODM party will win almost all the elective seats in Nairobi come 2027.
Aladwa who is the ODM Chairman for Nairobi county has hailed the recent grassroots elections, which he says are a signal of good things to come.
The legislator said the party has the potential to win at least 13 out of the 17 MP seats, over 60 MCAs from possible 85 as well as take charge of the county.
He has attributed this to the positive turnout for ODM grassroot elections which he says were successful despite some challenges experienced in a number of areas across the country.
“ We have shown that we are still the big boys and the party of the people especially in Nairobi where the interest still overwhelming,”
He added that the party will be keen enough not to make mistakes in Nairobi.
“ We want to win almost all seats and our target is very clear going forward,”
The MP has exuded confidence that he will clinch the ODM County Chair position come April 2025.
Aladwa’s main challenger Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has also declared interest in the Nairobi Governor seat in 2027.
With many of the delegates allied to his camp winning several seats, Aladwa believes that gives him another chance to be re-elected.
“We have concluded our grassroots elections in Nairobi. I am happy with the results; they speak louder. Team Aladwa is leading, and come next year, we are more than ready,” Aladwa stated confidently.
The party’s grassroots elections in Nairobi were largely peaceful, with delegates praising the process.
