Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has set an ambitious goal of leading Kenya to a semi-final finish at the 2026 African Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The continental tournament, scheduled for March 17 to April 3, 2026, in Morocco, will mark Kenya’s long-awaited return to the competition and their second appearance after debuting in Yaoundé, Cameroon, in 2016.

Odemba expressed confidence that the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, will secure top-tier friendly matches during the upcoming international windows to fine-tune the squad ahead of the championship.

The Starlets booked their WAFCON berth following a determined qualification run — holding Tunisia to a draw in Nairobi before clinching a crucial 1–0 victory away.

Goalkeeper Lilian Awuor emerged as the hero, saving two penalties to keep Kenya’s hopes alive, before the team sealed qualification with a 4–1 aggregate triumph over The Gambia in the final round.
