Kajiado Governor Joseph ole Lenku is under scrutiny for uttering words bound to incite tribal animosity and conflicts.
Lenku is said to have made the remarks on two separate occasions within Kajiado county.
On August 12 at Rombo Group Ranch, talking about land he made statements targeting a community residing in the area.
Then on September 6 in Ewuaso, Kajiado West, he attacked some leaders who participated in raising funds for bereaved kins of 12 people from Ongata Rongai who perished at Nithi bridge on Embu-Meru Road on August 31 night.
The Sh5 million raised apparently angered the former Cabinet Secretary who uttered inciting words like “our enemies”.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) acting CEO Harrison Kariuki wrote to him to appear at the agency’s offices in Nairobi Upper Hill to “assist the commission in the ongoing investigations”.

“These words were calculated to be hateful and are likely to affect harmonious coexistence between the Maasai and other communities” NCIC stated.
On September 3, the commission summoned Embakasi North MP James Gakuya to appears for questioning over remarks he allegedly uttered that border on incitement.
NCIC said he appeared to incite Kenyans against members of a certain community by allegedly labelling them “outsiders” who should not buy properties in Nairobi.
