Veteran and hip-hop artist Nazizi Hirji has opened up about her medical journey that restored her ability to walk after years of pain and immobility.

The artist revealed a knee injury left her unable to sleep, move and train, which required a specialized treatment known as Growth Factor Concentrate (GFC) therapy. This treatment allowed her to regain mobility and avoid the invasive surgery that doctors had highly recommended.

Nazizi stated the knee injury led her being diagnosed with Grade 4 Chondromalacia patella, a condition that affects the cartilage under the kneecap.

“I was so miserable. You can’t sleep at night. I had to have a brace on my left leg. I was walking with a crutch. I was working at Vibes everyday with my crutch,” Nazizi said.

She added her father encouraged her to explore regenerative therapies used by professional athletes, leading her to seek out one that involved GFC knee therapy. Later, Nazizi reported feeling an improvement after the first treatment, saying the experience was as life-changing.

Nazizi said the she has been pain-free for close to five years, with one follow-up session that requires about three years of check-ups.
