Art Show

Nairobi’s cultural calendar is about to welcome one of the most vibrant showcases, as the Nairobi National Museums is set to host the Affordable Art Show from May 22 to May 24, 2026, an exhibition to showcase over 400 artists.

“There will be about 800 works on display from first-time exhibitors to establish artists who exhibited internationally,” said one of the organizers.  The event is expected to feature range of pieces, from striking portraits to colorful abstract canvases, each reflecting its unique voice.

It will begin with a night opening ceremony with tickets selling at Ksh 700, featuring musician Shari Afrika to open the event.  Artist Samuel Muriithi is expected to perform drawing inspiration from his personal life and childhood. He is also known for offering social-political commentary on the society.

The Affordable Art Show is a fixture in Nairobi’s creative scene, bridging the gap between artists and audiences. The event reflects the growing movement in Kenya to democratize art, integrating creativity as an active part of daily life.
