Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has underscored the importance of county governments as key partners in security management and service delivery at the grassroots level.
Speaking in Wajir during his Jukwaa la Usalama tour, Murkomen paid a courtesy call on Wajir Governor and Council of Governors (CoG) chairperson Ahmed Abdullahi, where he lauded the governor for his close collaboration with the national government on matters of security infrastructure.
“As a ministry, we welcome governors and other elected leaders to join us in building police stations and administrative offices under a cooperation framework,” Murkomen said.
The CS emphasized that such joint efforts would not only strengthen security structures but also improve public confidence in state institutions at the county level.
He was accompanied by senior government officials, including National Government Coordination Principal Secretary Mohamed Ibrahim, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service Gilbert Masengeli, Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin, and GSU Commandant Ranson Lolmodooni.
