Philanthropist Lillian Nganga recently shared a deeply personal story from her past, revealing that she once endured a toxic and abusive relationship. The mother of one opened up about the experience after a hospital visit with her son, Utheri, whom she shares with renowned rapper and activist Juliani.
Lillian had been feeling unwell, and during her visit to the doctor, her physical condition raised concerns. The doctor asked if everything was okay at home and if she needed any assistance beyond medical care. She explained that she had no intention of making a video, but felt compelled to share her experience. “My baby and I have been sick, but we are better now,” Lillian began.
Her visit took an emotional turn when the doctor noticed her swelling eye and asked if someone had hit her. Lillian quickly assured the doctor that her relationship with her husband was healthy, despite rumors circulating about their separation. However, the question sparked painful memories of a time when she had been in an abusive relationship.
Lillian recalled an incident at a nightclub, where her then-boyfriend became violent after seeing another man glance at her. She explained how, despite the physical violence, they stayed together. “The love was so intense, but toxic. Sometimes I had to call in sick from work,” she shared. Lillian also remembered visiting a doctor who, upon seeing her injuries, called it for what it was—domestic violence. “Looking back, I can say that was madness,” she reflected.
Lillian urged others in similar situations to leave only when they are truly ready, emphasizing the importance of healing and moving forward. “Reality: things that are hurting you now will become a distant memory in the future,” she wrote in her post.
