CS Lee Kinyanjui And Governor Irungu Kangata

The County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs) continues to attract investors and establish market linkages. Investment, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui, is pushing for an economic transformation before the construction is complete.

Meeting with Murang’a Governor Irungu Kangata, CS Kinyanjui is working together with the county government and the ministry in to attract investors to the Murang’a Industrial Park, which is currently at 55% occupancy and strategically designed into thirteen specialized zones covering healthcare, manufacturing, education, sports, innovation, housing and critical infrastructure.

The main purpose of the industrial park is the 75 acres Murang’a Medicity, which will provide healthcare investment opportunities, including expansion of Kenneth Matiba Hospital, pharmaceutical and medical manufacturing, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and other health related facilities positioning the county as a medical innovation center.

A 276-acre of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has been dedicated to agro- processing for industries in tea, coffee, avocado, maize and macadamia value chains, which are crucial for Kenya’s agricultural economy.

In the park, a land has been set aside for educational institutions, housing projects and major infrastructure including, roads, internet, water, sewage and power systems, presenting a job opportunities within the county.

The industrial park will give locals the opportunity to invest, create job opportunities and will make the county more productive in the economic growth.
