Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi opened the National Job Fair, a vibrant precursor to this year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations, with a rallying call to Kenya’s youth to become ambassadors of excellence on the global stage.
Speaking at the event, Mudavadi emphasized the importance of discipline, respect for host nations’ laws, and pride in representing Kenya’s identity.
“Our global reputation thrives when we carry ourselves with honor,” Mudavadi stated, encouraging young Kenyans to fly the national flag high as shining stars abroad.

Caution and Patience Key to Success
Mudavadi also urged young Kenyans to approach overseas opportunities with care, advocating for due diligence in verifying placement agencies before committing to international work opportunities.

“‘Kuuliza si ujinga.’ Taking time to verify placement agencies can make all the difference between a dream fulfilled and a potential setback,” he said, adding that success is a journey requiring patience, discipline, and unwavering commitment, with no shortcuts to achievement.

Recognizing the Diaspora’s Role
The event highlighted the critical contributions of Kenyans in the diaspora to the nation’s economic growth, innovation, and skills transfer.
Present at the job fair were key figures including Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu, Dennis Itumbi, Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, and Isaiya Kabira, Secretary of Investments and Entrepreneurship.

Together, the leaders celebrated the transformative impact of the diaspora community, which plays a pivotal role in shaping Kenya’s global footprint while supporting development back home.
