Nyali MP Mohammed Ali has reconsidered his stance regarding the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Previously, Ali stated that he did not sign the motion to depose Gachagua, claiming the move was a political witch-hunt against the second in command.
“I have carefully read the charges in the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi. In good faith, I do not support this cause of action and find it ill- intentioned seeking to demonize a Public Servant who has contributed immensely to this great country,” Ali said then.
However, taking to X on Tuesday, October 8, Ali said he had read through the allegations against Gachagua and in light of new information at his disposal, he had changed his heart.
He said his vote on the impeachment motion will reflect his commitment and loyalty to the Republic of Kenya and my political party.
Notably, acting UDA secretary general Hassan Omar said the party is supporting the impeachment of Gachagua.
