The Mau Mau Trust members in Migori have appealed to residents to enroll as members to reap the benefits of money set aside for compensation following an award made by the British government.

After a successful head-on collision with the British government over alleged Mau Mau freedom fighters abuses, the veterans might be entitled to a maximum of 70 million each in a lawsuit that includes torture, forced labor, and other maltreatments during the colonial period.

While in Migori, the Mau Mau Trust’s Migori Chapter Manager and Committee expressed their dissatisfaction with the registration rate, and they even cautioned that it is causing the delay of the whole process of compensation.

They requested that those who are qualified for the program should not let this chance go by to make sure they are well recognized and provided with a compensation plan.
