Mathare United snapped their five-match winless run with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Shabana FC on Saturday at Dandora Stadium.
Brian Ouru’s debut goal in the first half was enough to secure all three points for John Kamau’s side.
The win lifted Mathare United from 13th to 10th place in the FKF Premier League standings, with 19 points, while Shabana, who had been unbeaten in their last four matches, dropped from 6th to 7th place with 20 points.
The match was temporarily halted for five minutes due to a disturbance outside the stadium, which led to police officers using teargas to disperse the unruly crowd.
Despite the interruption, both teams resumed play at full strength.
After a series of frustrating attempts, Mathare United finally broke the deadlock in the 31st minute.

Ouru capitalized on a deflected shot from Elli Asieche, expertly heading the ball past Shabana goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng.
