CNN International correspondent Larry Madowo has called out EgyptAir over what he describes as inadequate compensation for delayed baggage, after the airline took three days to deliver his luggage in Paris.

In a Facebook post, Madowo said the carrier offered him $200 (Sh25,840)— an amount he claims falls well below the compensation levels set by European Union passenger rights regulations.

When he declined the offer, EgyptAir reportedly told him to “take it or leave it.”

The journalist also shared a copy of a discharge form from the airline, which required him to waive any future claims over lost or damaged baggage in exchange for the payment.

The form further stipulated that he would refund the amount if the bags were returned or if he received insurance compensation.
