The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has launched its portal for the 2026 academic year, inviting KCSE 2025 graduates to apply for their preferred degree programmes. Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba confirmed the opening on April 7 after a briefing from KUCCPS officials led by CEO Agnes Wahome. The portal will remain open for four weeks, closing on May 6.
Eligible students with a minimum grade of C+ can apply via the official portal at students.kuccps.net/login/, using their KCSE index number and password. For those who have forgotten their password, the KCPE index number or birth certificate number can be used.
The portal covers 42 public universities and the Open University of Kenya, where students can access government scholarships and HELB loans. In addition, 30 private universities are included for HELB loans only, meaning admitted students will not be eligible for government scholarships.
