Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is pursuing self-styled activist and President William Ruto’s chief critic Morara Kebaso for alleged tax evasion.
KRA accused Morara of failing to pay taxes, amounting to KSh 27 million over the past three years.
This is despite earning KSh 186 million from his companies and businesses, including Morara Home Furniture and Morara Properties Limited.
Over the period, the taxman said despite amassing a fortune, the activist filed nil returns annually. The authority has since launched an investigation into the matter.
KRA listed six motor vehicles owned by the 2027 presidential aspirant, including a Land Cruiser pickup, a Land Cruiser Prado, a Captain Tuk Tuk, a TVS motorcycle, a Renault van, and a Volkswagen Passat.
