The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has posted that the iTax portal will be temporarily closed this weekend as the organization carries out scheduled maintenance.
In an advertisement, KRA stated that the system will be down from 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, up to midnight on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
The shut-down, which will be for about four hours, is to facilitate routine updates.
“Kenya Revenue Authority informs all the stakeholders that there will be maintenance of iTax in a planned schedule for four hours.
iTax will not be accessible during this time. Any inconvenience this may cause is deeply regretted,” part of the statement read.
The authority has asked taxpayers to plan their transactions in advance to avoid interference in the time of maintenance.
iTax, KRA’s premier online platform, allows taxpayers to file tax returns, remit tax, revise registration details, and view their accounts online in real time. The system has been leading the agency’s push for totally digitalized tax services.
This upkeep is a follow-up to another such exercise done earlier in the month on the Integrated Customs Management System (iCMS) a web-based system that automates customs procedures for importers and exporters.
That upkeep, which was done on October 12, lasted eight hours and was aimed at enhancing system efficiency and trade facilitation.
KRA has been rolling out routine updates in its systems to keep them secure and efficient as more Kenyans embrace digital tax services.
“Any inconvenience caused is regretted,” the agency added, assuring clients that services will resume as soon as the maintenance window.
