Laikipia East Member of the national assembly Mwangi Kiunjuri is now drumming up support for President Ruto’s intended tour of the mountain region, saying that his coming will be a blessing to the region which has seemingly been left out on matters development.

Speaking in Wiyumiririe primary school in Ngobit Ward during a public participation meeting, Kiunjuri said that the president will visit the region with his bag full goodies, which he says will go along way in boosting development projects.

Kiunjuri further lashed out at leaders opposed to the president’s planned tour, saying the head of state has express right to visit and meet people in any part of the country without seeking permission from any leader.

“ Ruto ndiye rais wa Kenya until 2027, mumejione vile anapokelewa kwingine, nataka kuwakumbusha safari yar ais ni baraka kwa eneo letu”

The legislator said that the president’s promises to different regions in Kenya must be fulfilled whether he is in office or not.

“Let us listen to the president, any roadside declaration made by the president must be fulfilled, it doesn’t matter whether it’s no or later. A lot of projects being implemented now were pledges made by former president Uhuru Kenyatta, meaning even if he leaves office, the next president will be mandated to fulfil what president Ruto promised” Kiunjuri said

President Ruto is expected to tour counties of Mt. Kenya region which include Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Nyeri, Murang’a and Nyandarua among others.
