Kenyan rapper and entrepreneur King Kaka has left fans emotional following the deeply personal tribute he shared to mark 25 years since his father’s passing. The touching message he shared on social media saw the award-winning artist open up about grief, growth, and the promise he has kept to make his father proud.
“Dear Dad, can’t believe it’s 25 years today, and I promise you I’ve made you proud,” he began, reflecting on the long journey he has walked without the presence of his father. King Kaka revealed that though celebrated as “King,” the path has not been easy.
“They call me King, but I have to admit so many times it got tough, so many times I wished you were here, so many times I needed just to call someone,” he wrote, giving fans a rare look at the struggles behind his success.
He has also shared how committed he has been to honoring his father’s memory, especially by taking care of the family he left behind. He proudly mentioned that his mother is happy, even joking about building her a “big a#% house,”
King Kaka said his father now has grandchildren he never got to meet,
“I would have wished for a lunch date today… I mean, is that too much to ask for? But God had plans. I soldier on. Keep resting, if only,” he concluded.
