Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has stressed the critical need for national unity, calling on both leaders and citizens to prioritize dialogue over conflict.
While speaking at a Thanksgiving and Sunday worship service at the Gospel Outreach Church in Kyuso, in Kitui County, Kindiki emphasized that future leadership must focus on fostering unity by addressing differences in a peaceful and constructive manner.
He reiterated that the government is committed to ensuring equal development opportunities across all regions, with no part of the country being left behind.
Kindiki also issued a stern warning against incitement and actions that could destabilise Kenya’s constitutional framework.
“As political leaders, we have a responsibility to protect our country from descending into lawlessness and chaos. Encouraging violence, unrest, and property destruction as a means to resolve conflicts goes against the very essence of our Constitution,” he cautioned.

The service was attended by several dignitaries, including MPs Eng. Paul Nzengu (Mwingi North), Mwenda Gataya (Senator, Tharaka Nithi), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Lilian Siyoi (Woman Representative, Trans Nzoia).
Others were Eric Wamumbi (Mathira), Patrick Munene (Chuka Igambang’ombe), Benard Kitur (Nandi Hills), Kitui County MCAs, and the county security team.
