Kenya’s U17 boys’ national team, the Junior Stars, have been placed in Group B for the 2024 Total Energies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations CECAFA Qualifiers.
The draw, conducted by the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA), sees Kenya drawn alongside Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan in the group.
Hosts Uganda are placed in Group A, where they will face Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Burundi.
The top two teams from the qualifiers will advance to represent the CECAFA Zone at the 2025 CAF U-17 AFCON tournament.
The Junior Stars will be led by head coach Salim Babu, with Anthony Akhulia as assistant coach. The qualifiers are set to take place from December 14 to 27, 2024, in Kampala, Uganda.

15/12/2024: South Sudan vs Kenya (Nakivubo Stadium)
18/12/2024: Kenya vs Somalia (Nakivubo Stadium)
21/12/2024: Sudan vs Kenya (St Mary’s Stadium)
The semifinals will take place on December 24:
Semifinal 1: Group B winner vs Group A runner-up (Nakivubo Stadium)
Semifinal 2: Group A winner vs Group B runner-up (Nakivubo Stadium)

The third-place match will be held on December 27, with the loser of semifinal 1 facing the loser of semifinal 2, at Nakivubo Stadium.
The final will take place later the same day, with the winner of semifinal 1 facing the winner of semifinal 2, also at Nakivubo Stadium.
