Kenya is strengthening its collaboration with the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) as part of efforts to enhance its position as a leading global tourism destination.
Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano hosted a strategic meeting with the WTTC leadership, including President and CEO and Executive Vice President .
During the meeting, WTTC presented insights highlighting Kenya’s strong position within Africa’s tourism sector while comparing the country’s performance against leading global tourism competitors.
CS Miano said the findings will guide efforts to unlock new opportunities in the tourism industry through stronger partnerships with the global private sector.
She noted that Kenya will leverage its diverse wildlife, rich cultural heritage, and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) capacity to attract more investments, protect biodiversity, and strengthen its competitiveness in the international tourism market.
“Magical Kenya remains a powerhouse destination, exceptionally positioned to be the world’s preferred global destination,” Miano said.
The government continues to pursue strategic partnerships aimed at increasing tourist arrivals, creating employment opportunities, and promoting sustainable tourism development across the country.
