The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has ushered in a new chapter in its leadership following the official handover to newly appointed Board Chairperson Hon. Moses Mwambu Mabonga.
The leadership transition meeting was led by Acting Director General Dr. Eng. Joseph Oketch, who welcomed Hon. Mabonga and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to maintaining strong corporate governance and institutional continuity.
The meeting was attended by outgoing Board Chairperson Adan Haji, who formally handed over the leadership of the Board, marking what EPRA described as a smooth and seamless transition.
During the event, the Authority also paid tribute to outgoing Board Member Jennifer for her dedicated service and contribution to the organisation’s work in regulating Kenya’s energy and petroleum sectors.
At the same time, EPRA officially welcomed Ms. Faith Kuno as the newest member of its Board, expressing confidence that her expertise will strengthen the Authority’s oversight and governance.
Dr. Oketch said the leadership changes underscore EPRA’s commitment to ensuring continuity in delivering its mandate of regulating the energy and petroleum sectors while promoting efficiency, transparency and consumer protection.
The Authority noted that strong governance remains key to supporting Kenya’s energy sector reforms, enhancing regulatory effectiveness and ensuring reliable, affordable and sustainable energy services for consumers across the country.
