Kenya has officially named 40 boxers to represent the country at the upcoming Africa Boxing Championship, set to take place at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi.
The announcement, made by the Boxing Federation of Kenya (BFK) stated that the boxers will undergo a non-residential training camp, designed to sharpen their skills and build cohesion ahead of the championship.
The training will take place at Mathare Police Depot, Nairobi, with coaches and officials overseeing the training and ensuring that the boxers are physically and mentally prepared to face opponents from across Africa.
The upcoming Africa Boxing Championship will be held from October 12 to October 28.
More than 20 countries are expected to participate in the championship, giving Kenyan boxers the opportunity to compete against some Africa’s best talent. The games will include men’s and women’s categories.
