The Kenya School of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) – Moiben Campus in Uasin Gishu County has officially admitted its first cohort of trainees following its operationalisation on May 11, 2026, a milestone which marks the government’s determination towards improving technical and vocational education on a nationwide scale after they launched TVET programmes.
Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said the new campus is a substantial investment in the development of an economically vibrant country with a well-equipped labour force, that will drive Kenya’s socio-economic transformation through quality technical education.
As a constituent campus of the Kenya School of TVET, the Moiben institution is dedicated to training TVET trainers and educators, supporting the country’s growing demand for qualified technical teachers.
Through supporting the provision of qualified technical and vocational teachers in schools, such trainings are being made available.
The campus currently hosts the Departments of Health and Applied Sciences, Agriculture and Environmental Studies and Liberal Studies, while the main campus in Gigiri, Nairobi, offers programmes in Engineering, Business Studies and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), ensuring complementary and comprehensive training of TVET educators.
Moiben Campus itself has a very modern facility with classrooms and laboratories, a lecture hall, a library and an accommodations for students and dining facilities.
Since becoming operational, the institution has continued to advance the government’s vision of producing competent, industry-responsive TVET trainers capable of enhancing technical and vocational education nationwide.
The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration continues to support the institution through coordinated security and administrative frameworks aimed at maintaining a safe, stable and conducive learning environment for both trainees and staff.
