Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has officially congratulated the Republic of Sierra Leone for its successful election as a Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2024-2025 term.
In a statement, Mudavadi highlighted this achievement as a testament to Sierra Leone’s commitment to global peace and security, praising the country’s leadership in advancing reforms within the UN Security Council, particularly as the current Chair of the African Union Committee of 10 (C-10).
“This achievement reflects Sierra Leone’s dedication to promoting stability and peace on the global stage,” Mudavadi stated. “We commend its leadership and look forward to working closely with them in addressing pressing global challenges.”
The Prime Cabinet Secretary also took the opportunity to express gratitude to H.E. Ms. Isatu Aminata Bundu, the outgoing High Commissioner of Sierra Leone to Kenya, for her exemplary service. “Her tireless efforts in representing her country and advocating for the broader African agenda have been invaluable,” he noted.
Mudavadi emphasized the strong and cordial relations between Kenya and Sierra Leone, a partnership grounded in mutual respect, shared values, and historical solidarity.
He specifically acknowledged the crucial role Sierra Leone played in facilitating the recent State Visit of President Julius Maada Bio to Kenya, which he described as a significant milestone in bilateral relations.
“This visit resulted in the signing of key Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding across various sectors,” Mudavadi highlighted.
These agreements encompass vital frameworks for Political and Diplomatic Consultations, Trade and Investments, Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, Wildlife Conservation and Tourism Development, as well as Culture, Arts, and Youth Affairs.
