Trade Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui held a meeting with Chinese investors in Beijing that brought together senior government officials, the China-Africa Development Fund (CADFund) and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
At the meeting they discussed the ambition to attract investments that would establish industries, create jobs and produce goods for exports across the continent and beyond.

CS Kinyanjui said Kenya offers a strategic manufacturing hub, where China has achieved remarkable progress in areas such as manufacturing, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, automotive and electric mobility, mining, energy and logistics.
He added that this partnership will build a capital, technology and expertise in Kenya to establish industries and create jobs for Kenyans.
At the same time, he said Kenya has an advantage through the East African Community, COMESA and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), where investors can establish production facilities in Kenya and access to wider African markets.

This will provide skills, stronger supply chains and opportunities for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) both locally and internationally.
Kenya remains committed to building strategic partnerships that promote sustainable economic growth, industrialization, technology transfer and mutually beneficial trade. He emphasized investors are welcomed to share their vision to transform Kenya into a competitive manufacturing and export hub while creating meaningful opportunities for our people
