The longstanding friendship between Kenya and the Republic of Korea continues to flourish, offering a powerful example of what two nations can achieve through shared values, mutual respect, and a common vision for sustainable progress.
Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi said Kenya’s collaboration with Korea spans a broad spectrum of sectors, including ICT, education, trade, manufacturing, agriculture, water management, and socio-economic development.
These efforts are not only transforming lives across Kenya but also inspiring a culture of innovation and international cooperation.
He hosted Kang Hyung-shik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea. The two leaders engaged in in-depth discussions on bilateral priorities and reaffirmed the strength of the Kenya-Korea partnership.
“I expressed my gratitude for the opportunity to engage deeply on bilateral issues and reaffirm the strength of our partnership,” said the host. “Our discussions reflected our shared determination to build a future anchored on innovation, growth, and prosperity for our people.”
A key highlight of the partnership is the Economic Development Promotion Facility (EDPF) and flagship projects at Konza Technopolis, notably the Konza Digital Media City Project and the Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST). These initiatives are already making a significant impact and stand as testaments to the nations’ shared commitment to technological advancement and human capital development.
Looking ahead, Kenya is keen to expand cooperation into emerging sectors such as renewable energy, maritime development, health, scientific research, and innovation. Continued support from institutions like the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and other Korean partners is expected to play a vital role in empowering Kenyan communities and enhancing local capacity.
