Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula, who also previously served as the Member of Parliament for Lugari, is set to have his office equipment and luxurious furniture auctioned over a debt owed by his company, Silverfox Branding Kenya.

A letter dated September 19, 2024, from Baseline Auctioneers reveals that Silverfox Branding Kenya, a business owned by Savula, has outstanding arrears totaling KSh 3,858,823.17.

The letter, which serves as a formal notice from the property managers of Kenya Development Corporation (KDC), instructs the initiation of the distress process to recover the debt.
The letter reads in part:
“We are the property managers of Kenya Development Corporation properties, including Finance House. We write to formally instruct you to initiate the distress process against Silverfox Branding Kenya located on the 5th Floor of Finance House. The tenant has accrued significant arrears in rent, currently amounting to KSh 3,858,823.17, despite multiple reminders and attempts at resolution.”

The communication further states that, according to the terms of the lease agreement, the distress process must proceed to recover the outstanding amount.
The auctioneers have been instructed to ensure all necessary legal procedures are followed, with the tenant being responsible for any associated costs, including legal and auctioneer fees.

The notice specifies that the distressed movable properties will be held in custody for 14 days from the date of the proclamation, after which they will be sold at a public auction if the debt remains unpaid.
The breakdown of the amounts due includes the outstanding rent of KSh 3,858,823.17, auctioneer fees of KSh 200,12.40, and legal fees yet to be specified.
