Kenyan singer Jovial has reminded her fans that behind the glamour of music and success lie a simple truth: women should be stable on their own and feels good or different when their partners takes care of the bill.
Speaking in an interview, Jovial said that a woman having her own money does not mean she should not enjoy financial support from her partner.
“Hata ukue na pesa aje, pesa ya mwanaume ni tamu. I’m also human; mimi pia nataka kupendwa,” Jovial said. She added a man who provides willingly brings a unique kind of happiness and comfort to a relationship.
Her statement highlights how wealth or fame one accumulates does not need genuine connection and affection, admitting that she too wants to be loved and enjoying a man’s financial care is not being broke.
Jovial also opened about the personal challenges she faces when looking for love as a celebrity, revealing fame makes it hard to build connections because many approach her with high expectations based on her profile.
