Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho has praised the ODM Youth Convention held at the Alaskan Grounds in Malindi, describing it as a powerful demonstration of unity, purpose, and generational engagement.
In a reflective statement following the event, Joho said the gathering underscored the importance of dialogue between leaders and young people, noting that meaningful conversations can transform ordinary spaces into platforms of possibility and change.
“The ODM Youth Convention at the Alaskan Grounds in Malindi was a testament to the enduring truth that when minds come together with purpose, even the ordinary ground beneath their feet becomes sacred with possibility,” he said.
Joho emphasized that the discussions held during the convention went beyond rhetoric, serving instead as a bridge between generations, ideas, and actionable solutions aimed at strengthening youth participation in leadership and development.
“Our conversation was more than just the exchange of words, it was a bridge between generations, ideals and action,” he noted.
He further described youth as a dynamic force that extends beyond age, characterizing them as a vital pillar of courage, innovation, and national transformation.
“The convergence was a reminder that youth is not merely an age but a force brimming with courage,” Joho stated.
The Cabinet Secretary reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with young people, pledging continued support in nurturing their talents and ambitions.
“And as leaders, we will always stand with our youths as both mirrors and compass,” he added.
