Businessman and social media influencer Jimal Rohosafi has been angered by an NTV news report that allegedly linked him to a “slow and painful scam” in the Lipa Polepole scheme.

Jimal vented his ire on his Instagram, accusing the station of false and defamatory reporting, claiming that NTV aired a story “with not a single ounce of truth.”

“After this toxic NTV newscast with not a iota of truth, I am totally aggrieved and puzzled and will most definitely pursue legal action. NTV has gone so low as not to ask for facts. Sad affair,” Jimal wrote.

The billionaire tycoon, who amassed wealth in luxury vehicles and leading a lavish lifestyle, could not believe that the media house could air such accusations without explaining or hearing his version.

NTV headlined their evening bulletin with the feature “Lipa Polepole: A Slow, Painful Scam,” and seemed to suggest that there were several people involved in questionable payment cons.

Although Jimal did not explain the scam, his message seemed to suggest that he was considering going to court to protect his name and business reputation.

Fans and entrepreneurs alike have since flooded his comment section with posts of solidarity and asking him to “defend his reputation.” Others went so far as to decry local media for being sensationalist, and some called for both parties to be transparent.

NTV and journalist Ben Kitili, who hosted the segment, have so far made no public response to Jimal’s allegations.
