Celebrated media personality and Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has officially announced that the highly anticipated Luo Festival 2025 will take place on August 9th at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi.
The annual cultural extravaganza, known for its flamboyant fashion, luxurious displays, and electrifying performances, promises to return with a bang under the theme “Luos Don’t Arrive, They Land.”
In a social media post, Jalang’o humorously declared that parking spaces at the event will be strictly reserved for German and Italian luxury cars only—specifically naming Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari, and Maserati. “Nyinyi wengine, you can Uber,” he quipped, sparking both amusement and anticipation among fans.
“Guys mark the date 9th of August. We are back like we never left,” wrote Jalang’o.
“Notice, notice – parking will only be for German (Mercedes, BMW) and Italian machines (Ferrari, Maserati)… And those with choppers, we have enough helipads.”
The statement, while humorous, reflects the extravagant flair and high standards the festival has come to be associated with.
The event is expected to attract thousands of revellers from across Kenya and the diaspora, eager to celebrate Luo culture, music, fashion, cuisine, and elegance.
