Socialite Chebet Ronoh

In a recent podcast on the “Mic Cheque Podcast,” popular content creator Chebet Ronoh shared her opinion on the polarizing sentiments previously expressed by influencer Murugi Munyi regarding the idea that being broke in Nairobi is a choice. She supported Munyi statement, saying it’s a matter of financial and personal initiative opportunity.

The debate began when a YouTuber mentioned that Nairobi is the best city in Africa for digital nomads, claiming on a budget of US$1,200 to US$1,33500,one could live a decent life featuring high speed internet, modern amenities and ideal weather.

However, Ronoh and the podcast acknowledged that many citizens live on an average pay scale and can’t afford the lifestyle, while they noted many foreigners find a life balance within the city when they arrive in the country.

The city provides individuals an environment for growth and willingness to expose themselves and make an effort to grow and stabilize.

“I’ve seen people from the village become millionaires, so it’s a good city to develop. It’s a god city to grow. That I agree,” she added.

Comparing other African cities like Johannesburg or Lagos, Nairobi is a balanced city, asserting that  it offers a quality life in the financial sector.
