Wanja Nyarari, a respected figure in Kenya’s elite circles, has announced that she will no longer assist Kenyans in securing job opportunities abroad.
Her decision comes in the wake of a scandal involving TikToker Rish Kamunge, who was recently arrested for allegedly scamming job seekers by offering fake employment opportunities.
In a detailed Facebook post, Wanja distanced herself from any fraudulent activities and emphasized that she has never charged money for job placements. She clarified that her efforts were purely voluntary, helping job seekers obtain necessary travel documents, such as passports and good conduct certificates, without any fee.

“I would like to make it clear that I am officially withdrawing from any involvement in assisting individuals with employment or any other help that requires government offices’ intervention. I have never asked anyone for money in exchange for job opportunities. In fact, I have personally fundraised through friends to help candidates acquire their passports and medical documents,” Wanja wrote.
Her decision to step back comes amidst the fallout from Rish Kamunge’s scandal, where he collected payments for non-existent jobs. The incident has put recruitment agents under increased scrutiny, leading Wanja to distance herself from the field before any allegations could be made against her.

Risper Kamunge’s scandal prompted Wanja to stop her project.
“I do not want to give my enemies an opportunity to use the unfortunate incident of Rish Kamunge to compare my work and goodwill to anything malicious. I would rather halt any further engagement than lose friends,” she added.
Frustrated with the current system, Wanja also announced that she would no longer direct international employers to Kenya. Instead, she intends to focus on other African countries with “better systems to work with,” criticizing Kenya for being full of opportunists.
Her decision marks the end of an era for many job seekers who relied on her connections to expedite document processing.

Wanja lives a lavish lifestyle.
“Integrity is not just doing the right thing when everyone is watching, but also when no one acknowledges your efforts. Helping others should never come at the cost of your own peace,” Wanja concluded.
