The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced a nationwide continuous voter registration exercise set to run from March 30 to April 28, 2026, according to a special issue of the The Kenya Gazette dated March 17, 2026.

In the gazette notice, the electoral body said the exercise will be conducted across all constituencies, with registration taking place at IEBC constituency offices as well as designated centres including Huduma Centres, selected public universities, and select shopping malls.

The commission noted that the exercise is anchored in the Constitution of Kenya and the Elections Act, aimed at enhancing voter registration and ensuring more eligible Kenyans are enlisted ahead of future elections.

IEBC further indicated that continuous voter registration and revision of the register will be temporarily halted in electoral areas where by-elections or other electoral activities are ongoing.

Registered voters wishing to transfer their voting stations will be required to present themselves physically at IEBC constituency offices, while those seeking to update their personal details must also do so in person.

The commission cautioned that voter registration services will be suspended after the expiry of the registration period to allow for auditing and verification of the voter register before normal services resume.

Additionally, the notice outlines specific registration centres across all counties, constituencies, and wards, with voters advised to visit the designated centres nearest to them during the exercise.
