The much-awaited 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers match between Harambee Stars and the Indomitable Lions will go down tonight at Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo, Cameroon.
Stars and Cameroon, both on four points, will be vying for the top spot in Group J with a win after Zimbabwe rose to the top with the 1-0 win over Namibia on Thursday.
Engin Firat-coached side expects at least a repetition of the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers when Kenya drew both games against Cameroon.
The match will test the capacity of both teams with whoever collects more points set to boost their chances of qualifying for next year’s tournament in Morocco.
The two sides last clashed in January 2010 in a friendly match where the five-time African Champions beat Stars 3-1.
Stars played to a 0-0 draw with Zimbabwe in the first match then beat Namibia 2-1 in the second, and are now eyeing another positive outing in the meet kicking off at 7PM.
Firat has his skipper Michael Olunga back alongside Daniel Anyembe, and Timothy ‘Babu’ Ouma who missed out in the opening qualifiers.
Defenders Johnstone Omurwa and Collins Sichenje are back with Stars, offering more options at the back.
