Soccer fans in Nairobi enjoyed a weekend to remember when Guinness brought the Premier League Trophy to their doorsteps at Bar Next Door, Kiambu Road.

The two-day festival drew thousands of fans eager to witness live Premier League matches, quality entertainment, and most importantly, see the Premier League Trophy live a dream fulfill for a good number of residents.

Hosted on Saturday, 25th October, and Sunday, 26th October, the Guinness Premier League Trophy experience turned the venue into a lively football zone, filled with big screens, pulsating sound, and supporter base that breathed and lived every moment of the weekend games.

Fans were left guessing with dramatic scores as Chelsea were shocked by Sunderland 2-1, Liverpool were handed their fourth successive defeat by Brentford 3-2, Manchester City lost to Aston Villa 1-0, and Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace 1-0. Cheers, groans filled the atmosphere as every goal created new drama.

Adding flavor to the thrill were football pundits Carol Radull and Lotan Salapei, who placed their passion for the game on the table with lively repartee and sharp analysis in the Guinness Premier League Trophy experience.

Theirs were the conversations that had the audience laughing, disagreeing, and celebrating to the ups and downs of the game.

Off-camera, there were spellbinding performances from Kodong Klan and Khaligraph Jones, and into the wee hours of the night, DJs Grauchi, Sir M, Mista C, Daqchild, and Pskratch kept the heat going.

The celebratory atmosphere of the occasion made it not only a viewing event it was almost like a party of football culture.

In her address during the event, Guinness Brand Manager Joy Murugi described how it was heart-warming to see Kenyans love football and Guinness so much.

“Having been utterly fantastic to see the passion for the sport from so many of the fans who have joined us, we are delighted to have created a proper home for football fans at the Guinness Matchday, where they can come along, enjoy celebrating the beautiful game, and have a cold Guinness to boot.” she said

She added that bringing the Premier League Trophy to Nairobi showed Guinness’s continued continued commitment to creating memorable football moments for its fans.

As the curtains closed on the Guinness Premier League Trophy experience, one thing was clear for Nairobi’s football fans this was more than just a weekend of matches. It was also a reminder of how football, and a good pint of Guinness, can bring people together.
