The government has maintained that more than 20,000 title deeds issued to settlers in the Eastern Mau and Marmanet forests remain invalid.
Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome, speaking during a tour of the Nyahururu Lands Registry, said the current administration will not recognize roadside declarations that were used to allocate land in the affected areas.
She insisted that all allocations must undergo proper legal procedures for the title deeds to be validated. Wahome emphasized that all land allocations must follow due process, warning that shortcuts and irregular procedures will not be tolerated.
