On Valentine’s Day, the Nairobi County Government, under Governor Sakaja Johnson, celebrated the occasion by visiting primary schools in several sub-counties where the Dishi na County school feeding program is implemented. The Governor and his team shared meals with students and local residents as part of a broader initiative to enhance community welfare and well-being.

Governor Sakaja’s visit to Aga Khan Primary School, his alma mater, was especially poignant. Returning to the institution where he spent his early school years, now as the city’s Governor, offered him a moment of deep reflection and nostalgia.

In his address to students and staff, Governor Sakaja expressed heartfelt joy over the ongoing success of the Dishi na County program, calling it a milestone he had long dreamed of achieving. “It’s truly a pleasure to be here with all of you today. To return to this school, not as a student but as your Governor, and to share a meal with you on this special day is an experience that fills me with great happiness,” he said.

The Governor took the opportunity to pledge his support in addressing challenges faced by the school, particularly after learning of issues raised by the principal. “I spent my school days here starting in 1991, and I am fully committed to ensuring that the issues you are facing will be addressed. Together, we will work toward making this institution even better for the future,” he promised.

The visit was not just about meals, but a reaffirmation of the Governor’s commitment to the community and the success of his educational initiatives. The Dishi na County program continues to play a crucial role in ensuring that children receive nutritious meals, enhancing their learning experience and fostering community spirit.
