Kenyans eyeing public service jobs have a fresh opportunity to join the government, as the Social Health Authority (SHA) on Tuesday, July 29, announced 64 vacant positions spanning various departments.
The Authority, which is tasked with overseeing the rollout and management of Kenya’s new social health insurance scheme, is looking to bolster its team with directors across critical areas such as Beneficiary Management, Claims and Benefits Management, ICT, Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and County Coordination, among others.
In its public notice, SHA emphasized that the recruitment drive is aimed at strengthening the institution’s capacity to carry out its mandate within the health sector, especially as Kenya transitions towards a universal health coverage system.
The candidates wishing to submit applications for the positions are required to meet a series of requirements, including compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
This includes the submission of valid documents like Certificate of Good Conduct, KRA Tax Compliance Certificate, HELB clearance, EACC clearance, and a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) report.
Those applying must also attach their professional and educational certificates, an updated CV, and an extensive cover letter explaining their suitability for the job.
Applications are received online at recruitment.sha.go.ke or handed manually to the SHA Building, 10th Floor. All applications must indicate the job applied for on the envelope.
The notice, as per the notice, is available for three weeks and will close on August 19, 2025.
SHA assured that successful candidates would receive competitive salaries commensurate with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) guidelines.
“SHA is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage qualified Kenyans from all backgrounds, including women and persons with disabilities, to apply. Note that canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification,” stated the Authority, adding that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
The recruitment is a significant step towards operationalizing the SHA as the government speeds up plans to overhaul and enhance healthcare delivery across the country.
