After two postponements, the government has finally approved the 12th edition of the Mombasa Open Tong Il Moo Do Championships, now set for December 10 to 22 at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa.

Kenya Tong Il Moo Do Federation president, Master Clarence Ingalwa, expressed gratitude to the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, the Creative Economy and Sports, Salim Mvurya, for his support and commitment to promoting lesser-known sports in Kenya.

This year’s world championship has attracted participation from more than 50 countries.

The federation will hold an official press conference on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Aga Khan Academy, where it will announce further details regarding any official launch, team preparations, and logistical arrangements for both Kenyan athletes and visiting delegations.

The previous edition of the global event was hosted at the same venue in December 2023, where Kenya’s national team, Jasiri, emerged overall champions with 24 medals—eight gold, five silver, and 11 bronze. India finished second in gold medals, while Iran and Zambia tied for third.

The competition featured participants ranging from eight to 55 years old.
