Defending champions Gor Mahia kept their title hopes alive after edging Shabana FC 1-0 in a tightly contested Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) match held at the Gusii Stadium on Sunday.

Sylvester Owino emerged the hero for K’Ogalo, rising highest to head home the decisive goal with just ten minutes left on the clock. The vital win lifts Gor Mahia to second place on the FKF-PL table with 53 points—just two shy of leaders Kenya Police FC.

Meanwhile, Kenya Police FC maintained their lead at the summit following a 1-0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos. Marvin Nabwire’s second-half strike was enough to secure all three points and keep the law enforcers at the top with 55 points.

Elsewhere, Murang’a Seal recorded their first win of 2025, narrowly beating relegation-threatened Nairobi City Stars 1-0. Mara Sugar and Ulinzi Stars settled for a 1-1 draw in another closely contested encounter.

With the title race heating up, both Gor Mahia and Kenya Police continue to show resilience, setting the stage for a thrilling finish to the season.
